The clock on the wall says it’s time for a cold one (if you live on the East Coast). Got any big plans for the weekend?

Maybe a road trip to Fredericksburg on Saturday just to get out of the house. Sunday is Mrs. Ttyymmnn’s birthday , and it’s Father’s Day to boot . That would normally mean a trip to a fancy restaurant, but I think we’ll probably just grill burgers or steaks instead at home . And I imagine there will be beer involved.

Just 3 work weeks left till I take my first days off since August. Was supposed to go to italy but cancelled my tickets and reservations a couple months ago. Still trying to decide if I’ll go somewhere more local or just stay home for my two weekends off.

We were supposed to be in CA this week. Disneyland for a few days, then a family reunion in Santa Barbara. Oh well.

I’m not really sure what’s happening this weekend. They were trying to throw together some last-minute Father’s Day plans, but I’m not sure what or how that’s going. Meanwhile, I’m thinking about working on cabinets.

I’m picking up the wagon tonight, going to town Sunday with a friend for a barbecue among colleagues. And Monday, Sammy and I are going for a hike in the provincial park. Getting out is nice.

Going to the funeral of a friend’s mother. Her mind left the building a while ago and her body’s been slowly following, so it’s one of those “best thing for all involved” situations, but still: no fun.

Grilling sounds like a good weekend. Does the whole family get involved or is it just you?

Last minute camping trip this coming Tuesday night with a work friend who has never gone camping. Figured it was my civic duty to show her the way . We’re intentionally doing zero planning besides loading a camry up with gear. We’ll figure out the destination once we start driving

My mother in law had ALS, so it was the other way around: a mind as sharp as a tack stuck inside a body that just stopped working. I can’t even begin to imagine.

My wife does whatever prep is involved, be it marinading, or mixing meat for burgers, or prepping potatoes for the grill. The boys get to set the table and do the dishes afterward. I cook and eat. And drink beer. In the old days, waiting for the charcoal to be ready was a great excuse to smoke a cigar, but I quit those. Sometimes I wish I hadn’t.

I may dig the Mini out and run up to Atlanta Motorsports park to meet up with some friends.

Sunday is Father’s Day. Our neighbors bought a zoo, I kid you not, and they reo pened it a few weeks ago at a limited capacity. We are going Sunday. They have stringent distancing requirements and we will mask up.

It might be for the best. 2021 will be the last Lancia Lambda (the next event will be open to other models) gathering in Fobello. Every five years a large percentage of Lambda owners have a multi day rally to hometown of the company’s founder. It’s a tiny little alpine town in Piedmont . Would love to go see it.

They are cool folks and they have done amazing work. PETA has signed off on their facility. That should tell you something. Jumped in with no prior experience either.

More than a few animals made pit stops at their house which is on 5 acres next to ours. Several of the large grass eating herbivores, including a long horn steer, a donkey and a pony have opted to graze in our lawn. All good though. One of their kids must be taking up trumpet. Last night he was tooting away and my daughter thought it was an elephant. There was a non zero chance that she was right based on what we had seen over the last year.

Most kids “graduated” today. Lots of folks heading over the pass to find some heat. 101 is fun. Pacific Beach, etc.
